A wide shelter largely filled by large blocks, in Lluçà.

Characteristics

Location

From km 21.6 of the C-62 road (between Prats de Lluçanès and Gironella), an asphalt track heads N, running parallel to the riera de Merlès. After 3.6 km we take a turnoff to the right (signposted La Solana/Cal Tomàs/Vall de les Botes). Once we have covered 1.3 km we pass in front of a farm, and 100 metres after the last building we find a path (passage barred by a concrete bollard). We follow this path, which heads SE, and after about 250 metres we reach shelter no. 1.

Shelter no. 2 is 24 metres from the S end of shelter no. 1.

Description

Morphology

Shelter 27 metres wide and 6 metres high, raised 1.5 metres above ground level. It is entirely occupied by large blocks, except for the innermost part.

Other details

The ceiling is smoke-blackened and the only notable feature is the remains of several masonry walls.

History

Known since time immemorial.
