Location

The rock shelter is located about 50 m SW of the Pastereta climbing area, on a small rocky outcrop below the climbing wall, at the Serrat de la Pastereta (Collbató).

To reach it we will set out from the Vinya Nova farmhouse, on the boundary of the municipalities of Collbató and el Bruc. From the farmhouse a track heads SE towards Collbató which we will follow for about 850 m, then we will take a path on the left. Initially through olive groves and then climbing through the forest for about 850 m and heading towards the Pastereta climbing area. About 50 m before reaching the wall, the rock shelter is already visible, suspended on the small rocky outcrop.

Description

Morphology

A wide rock shelter about 19 m long and 6 m deep, suspended on a small rocky outcrop. Once inside, its habitable dimensions can be appreciated.

Speleothems

The formations existing at its N end come from a fissure in the ceiling at the end of the chamber. Also in this same area there are two narrow, impassable conduits that open their way between the different flowstones.

Progression

In what requires a small and easy climb to reach its mouth.

History

Probably known to the usual climbers of the area. Unpublished in speleological catalogues. Documented by Montse Mañosa and Jordi Navarro in 2022.
