Description

Morphology

The cavity has an entrance about 2 metres in diameter with a single 15-metre-deep shaft; at the lowest point of the base, -16 metres is reached.

History

First explored in 1958, but we do not know who carried out the first exploration: the GES – CMB call it Avenc Montesinos and the SES – CE Puigmal name it Avenc del Pivet or del Pi Verd (we think pivets = avets, there are probably none in l'Ordal). Curiously, in an article published 10 years later by members of the GES (Geo y Bio Karst nº 18 – 1968) a survey and a record card appear, calling it Avenc del Pibet (?).
