Location

At the point where the track coming from the coll d'Ordal crosses the Fondo de l'Arcada (downstream we would find the Avenc de la Ullera), one must go up the streambed and shortly after, on the hydrographic right (left in the direction of travel), the small pit is already visible.

Description

Morphology

Slightly oval mouth. It is a pit decapitated by surface erosion, of which only part of the western wall remains, along with a small shaft of just over 2 metres on the side closest to the streambed.

Speleothems

Remains of speleothems at the mouth.

History

Discovered and explored by members of the GES – CMB in October 1959 during a short 3-day campaign in the area known as Operación Vampiro. It is very likely the same cavity that appears in the GES activity book as Avenc del Torrent de l'Arcada, explored on the same days and of which there has never been any news, but whose name was changed when it was published.
