Characteristics

Location

It is located on the hydrographic right bank of the Fondo de l'Arcada, 97 metres below the point where the path coming from the Avenc dels Esquirols and the track descending from the Coll d'Ordal meet in the Fondo de l'Arcada; the cavity lies between this track and the torrent bed.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 6x1 metres leading to a single shaft 19.5 metres deep.

History

It seems that the first exploration was carried out by members of the SES – CE Puigmal (Barcelona) around the year 1958.

J.Borràs (1980) in Sota Terra no. 1 assumes that it must be the same pit that Faura i Sans mentions in his Recull (1909) as Avenc de les Calderes, but there is no conclusive evidence to support this theory.
