Location

Leaving Rellinars along the path (GR-5) that leads to the farmhouses of les Cases and les Boades, and once at les Cases one must follow the small path that climbs to the ridge of the Camí Ral and goes up along the western ridge of the right bank of the torrent de la Font de les Boades. At the point where the climb ends and one reaches the area known as els Plans, about 10 metres to the left of the path, the cavity is found.

Description

Morphology

Entrance mouth of 5.50 by 4.50 metres, funnel-shaped. The shaft descends vertically 8.80 metres, reaching the upper part of a debris cone that continues downwards in two opposite directions. To the N the gallery consists of a very steep ramp about 12 metres long, at the end of which one reaches the point of maximum depth (-15 m). From the base of the shaft and in a S direction, the ramp is much shorter and ends by closing at 12.5 metres depth.

History

The first record of this pit is that of the exploration carried out in December 1957 by members of the GES – CMB, although it remained practically unknown, even though they located it on a later edition of the Editorial Alpina map.

It was not until 23 May 1971 that members of the SIS del CE Terrassa were able to relocate it, and they themselves carried out the exploration on 5 July of the same year 1971, thinking that it was an unpublished cavity and publishing it that same year as Avenc de les Boades. Some time later they realised the error and restored its original name.
