Location

It is located beside the Avenc circuit, at the Tuixént-La Vansa Nordic ski resort. Since this circuit is not shown on the general trail map, we will note that the pit is located at the upper part of the firebreak, about 20 metres to the right, in the middle of the flat forest.

GPS readings taken before 2 May 2000 may show some margin of error.

Description

Morphology

A 31-metre-deep pit. The first shaft of about 10 metres places us on a small base where a meander begins. This connects with the next vertical section, which is a joint that descends about 15 metres, very narrow, until reaching a ledge; here a narrow passage on the ramp temporarily prevents passage, but the shaft continues descending many more metres.

Progression

The meander had to be cleared and a handrail installed.

History

The entrance was found by some ski instructors while marking out a new cross-country circuit. The entrance was covered by branches and leaf litter; currently a fence with yellow tapes delimits the entrance. Explored by the GELL in 2001.
