Characteristics

Location

To reach the Prat de Sangonelles, at the head of the Padrinàs valley, we will take from the coll de Port the paved road that climbs to the refugi d'Arp and the Tuixén - La Vansa cross-country ski trails. Then we will take a track that skirts the mountain along the shady side, until we find a fork to the right. After 2 kilometres we will come to the shepherds' hut of the Prat de Sangonelles. A track made for now-disused forestry use descends in zigzags before finally levelling off. Walking along it we will cross an important torrent (the second one we will find), with a cliff that forces the track to wind. Ascending now on our left up the torrent and about 60 metres above the track among some pines, the mouth of the pit opens. Very approximate coordinates.

Description

Morphology

The mouth, a little more than one metre in diameter, gives way to a smooth 12-metre shaft, with the bottom collapsed by stones and cut trunks, making a supposed continuation impossible.
