Avenc de les Pedrisses

Avenc de les Pedrisses

Avenc de 34 metres de fondària al Parc eòlic del Trucafort, l'Argentera.

Argentera, L' • Baix Camp90m34m

A 34-metre-deep pit in the Trucafort wind farm, l'Argentera. Explored and surveyed by SIRE-UEC de Sants on 24 October 1976.

Characteristics

Location

From Colldejou we follow the T-322 road towards the Torre de Fontaubella; at kilometre 17.100, at the height of Coll Roig, an asphalt track leaves to the right on a steeply sloping stretch that takes us to the Trucafort wind farm. This track has restricted access for authorised vehicles, and where the asphalt ends we find a barrier, although it is almost always open. After travelling 1,450 metres, we turn right without losing height, and after 65 metres, after crossing the GR-7, we find the entrance to the cavity. The GR-7 can also be followed from Coll Roig; this path cuts the bends of the track, and the cavity is 14 metres to the right of the path.

Description

Morphology

The entrance, 0.90X1.40 metres, gives access to a 1.70-metre drop; at its base one can descend on either side down a further 4-metre drop that places us in an 18x10 metre chamber; in the SE end we find the access to a pit of just over 8 metres, which places us in a wide chamber with a floor full of blocks; in the middle of this a narrow 2.90-metre pit opens up, which places us in a low-roofed chamber with some formations. From here one must continue descending through a series of narrow passages between blocks that place us at the point of maximum depth, -34 metres.

Speleothems

Some formations in a low-roofed chamber.

Progression

To explore the cavity, one need only rig the 8-metre pit with a 15-metre rope; for the rest of the cavity no equipment is necessary.
