Balenyà, a municipality in Osona, has 10 inventoried cavities, all developed in limestone. Together they total 121 metres of length and reach a maximum depth of 4 metres. The longest cavity is Cova Pg-4, at 25 metres, followed by Cova Pg-2 (21 metres), Cova Pg-3 and Cova Pg-8 (17 metres each) and Cova Pg-5 (12 metres).
The Balma de la Costa del Garret is the only cavity with a notable vertical drop, 4 metres, and is characterised by a width of 37 metres; of little speleological interest, it has been known since time immemorial. Cova Pg-2 has a vertical drop of 2 metres, while Cova Pg-1, Cova Pg-3 and Cova Pg-4 do not exceed 0 metres. Several cavities in the group were explored by the GIE Granollers in 1978.
