Characteristics

Location

By the C-1413b road, from Hostalets de Balenyà to Centelles, shortly before kilometre 18, we will turn right towards Fontderola and el Puigsagordi. Once on the Pla de Castellar, we will head N, towards the antennas located on the Castellar. From the SE part of the buildings, a path leaves that skirts the cliff in a S direction; we will follow it for about 500 metres until reaching the coordinates (ED50- X:433517; Y:4629755). At this point a small trail begins that descends through a passage allowing the cliff to be overcome, and where on the right are the PG-3 and PG-4 caves. We will continue along the base of the cliff in a N direction, for 60 metres, where we will find the cavity 4 metres above the path.

Description

Morphology

The entrance, one and a half metres by one metre, is oriented E, and gives way to a gallery that after a very narrow passage, comes out again to the exterior a few metres further S, after a passage of 17 metres.

History

Explored by members of GIE Granollers in 1978.

In the latest speleological catalogue of Catalonia vol.4 (J. De Valles), the place name Puigsagordi has been added to the name of the cavity. At EspeleoÍndex we have kept the original name given to it by the GIEG.
