The Montnegre, el is a unit of the Serralada Litoral with 6 recorded cavities: 4 caves and 2 pits. Together they total a length of 126 m and reach a maximum depth of 14 m. All the cavities develop in Limestone.
The Avenc de les Aranyes is the longest cavity, at 72 m, and also the deepest, at 14 m. The Cavorca de Roca Andera, with 18 m of length, was explored by the GE Badalona on 8-12-2001. The Forat Bufador, with 5 m of depth, was surveyed in 2007 by the G.E. Badalona. The Forat de l'Erola has an access entrance of 1.3×0.75 m, a selective narrow passage, 11 m of length and a drop of 4 m (-1+3). The Cova del Pitxi, with 6 m of length, was cleared and explored by the GE Badalona on 28-10-2000.
It is a limestone and crystalline massif on the coast of the Maresme, with occasional caves among the Mediterranean forest.
