Graller Lo Comú

Avenc de 10 metres de fondària a Adons (El Pont de Suert).

Pont de Suert, El • Alta Ribagorça12m10m

A 10-metre-deep pit in Adons (El Pont de Suert), explored by the SIE del CE Àliga in 1993.

Characteristics

Location

Driving along the N-260 road between la Pobla de Segur and el Pont de Suert, shortly before reaching la Viu de Llevata and at kilometre 335.3, we will turn left towards Adons; shortly before reaching the village we will turn left towards la Beguda d'Adons; once past it we will follow the track until reaching the collada de Comallonga, where we will leave the vehicle. From here we will continue on foot, climbing up in a S direction, towards the Pala de l'Avedoga, with no defined path, gaining height in the direction of the torrent dels Prats, following the characteristic limestone pavement of this area. From the point where the vehicle is left to the cavity takes about 25 minutes. Approximate coordinates with little reliability.

Description

Morphology

The cavity is located right in the middle of the limestone pavement. The entrance is 3x2 metres and gives way to a single pit 10.5 metres deep where the cavity ends.

History

Explored by the SIE del CE Àliga in 1993.

Toponymy: The name of the cavity “Lo Comú” refers to the place where the cavity is located; this reference taken from the Alpina map is erroneous, since the correct name would be “Lo Cumó”. Having made this toponymic correction, we considered it appropriate to keep the original name given by the first explorers.
