Description

Morphology

Within a long, narrow fissure, there are two entrance openings; the smaller one is almost blocked by boulders.

Progression

Through the other opening one enters a pit -10 metres deep, which places us at the top of a cone of fallen debris, from which one can continue towards the SE along a short descending ramp that leads to the bottom of the pit of the small opening. If from the debris cone we continue towards the NW, a pronounced descending ramp, forming a high, narrow gallery with various boulders wedged between the walls, leads after a short drop to the bottom of the cavity.

History

Discovered and explored by the SIE of the Centre Excursionista Àliga on 15 September 1969, naming it Avenc d'en Miquel. It was later catalogued as Graller de Canells and still later as Graller dels Rocs de Canells, which appears to be the most correct toponym.

Visited in 2024 by Benjamí Grañena and Jordi Francès, who reviewed the 1969 survey and found a small side passage halfway down the pit.
