Description
Morphology
Cave structured along a joint, with three entrances. It is strongly fractured Devonian limestone.
Entrance number 1, currently the highest one, is very narrow and was opened by digging out; it leads us to a gallery descending a 4.50 metre pitch.
This gallery is a joint with an average width of one metre and a height of approximately 3.50 metres.
If we enter the cave through entrance 3, we will descend a slippery 7.50 metre ramp, which leads us to another gallery; we land on a debris cone. If we go towards the NE, the gallery ends after 3 metres; here the width is 1.30 metres and the height 2.60 metres. We are at the deepest point of the cave: -9 metres.
If we go towards the SW, on the ceiling we will see the connection with entrance 2; we descend into a small chamber, where on the right and left small rubble ramps block the continuations, and 5 metres further on the gallery ends, blocked by large blocks.
Cave with many unstable blocks and dangerous passage.
Progression
The recommended access to this gallery is entrance 2, where we will descend an r-1.80; here we will find, in a southerly direction, a narrow passage which, by removing blocks, connects us with the upper part of the gallery of entrance 3. In a NE direction, we will descend an r-1.60 and find the base of the gallery where the already mentioned entrance 1 is in its ceiling.
If we advance along this gallery, after 1.80 metres we find a large wedged block that we will have to get past above or below. Nine metres further on this passage ends blocked by blocks; a small gallery branches off to the left along which we can advance a couple more metres.
Before reaching the end, at mid-height a gallery hanging between blocks can be seen.
History
Continuing the prospections in the area carried out by the GE Badalona in 1991-1992 (see the magazine Cavernes nº 24, 1997), members of the GE Badalona and of the CE Castellar del Vallès located and explored an unpublished cave which they marked as CB-6.
