Description
Morphology
The entrance opens at the bottom of a depression, giving way to a -3.5-metre drop, reaching a widening from which a -10.3-metre pit descends. If we enter via the gallery above the pit, we can also descend from here with a drop of -9 metres. Once in the lower gallery, to the NE, there is a lower passage that had to be cleared which leads us to the base of the pit. To the SW, the main gallery ends at 38 metres depth. In the middle of this last stretch of the main gallery, three descending routes begin that reach -38, -44, and via the deepest of all, overcoming two consecutive drops of -3.8 and 4.4 metres, the lowest point of the cave is reached, -55 metres. The cave is structured along a main fissure running NE-SW. The average width of the galleries ranges between 1 and 1.5 metres, except for a widening of about 6 metres in the middle stretch of the gallery.
Speleothems
In the middle stretch of the gallery, where there is a widening of about 6 metres, we can observe the main lithogenic processes of the cave.
Progression
Care must be taken when exploring the cave due to the presence of unstable blocks.
History
The cave was located in 1983 by J. Cuenca (GEB) together with another colleague. In 1985 several members of the GEB and the ECG, while prospecting, pass by the entrance and enter the cave with a torch, stopping at the head of the pit as they had no equipment. Finally, on 17 December 1988 the GEB and the ECG carry out the exploration, except for the final “ramonage”. Fifteen days later, a large group from the ECG carry out the survey down to -46 metres and 245 metres of passage.
In 1997, the GEB carries out a new re-survey of the cave, finding new continuations, reaching a depth of -55 metres and 296 metres of passage.
