Torà • Solsonès32m14m

Small pit with a 14-metre drop in Torà, with two entrance mouths and lower galleries.

Characteristics

Location

Located in Torà, we will follow the road towards Palouet; after 1.3 kilometres, on the left we will find a hill (Tossal de la Morera), followed by a broad valley. When this ends we will have covered 1.7 kilometres from Torà; at this point we will see on the left of the road a torrent coming down from the S. We will have to go up it along the ridge between the torrent and the road until almost reaching the summit, where the cavity opens.

Approximate coordinates without much reliability.

Description

Morphology

Its entrance is formed by two mouths joined by a small lower conduit, which give way to a 10-metre gallery that at its central point presents the access in the form of a small shaft to a second part of the pit, formed by a lower gallery, much narrower and straighter, which presents at its bottom the maximum depth of the cavity (-14 metres). At its end and next to the ceiling it communicates with a new gallery of triangular section, about 5 metres long and highly sedimented.

History

The first exploration of which there is a record corresponds to the SIE del CEA in 1980.
