Location

Follow the path that from the font de les Rovires climbs up to the area where the whole concentration of crevices of the same name is found; crevice no. 4 is the first one we will come across, its wide entrance is located on the right of the path.

It can also be reached from the Fontpineda urbanisation; once at the end of carrer Via de Feguirola, a track begins that after one kilometre places us at the start of a path on the right-hand side of the track that leads towards the group of crevices.

Description

Morphology

A large 4X3-metre entrance places us in a -5-metre shaft. We find its base covered with blocks. A chamber is divided in two by large blocks.

Progression

The -5-metre shaft can be descended without equipment by one of its ends. In the lowest part of the blocks a horizontal gallery of comfortable passage begins; after 5 metres, a low passage connects with another gallery of a different direction; after a few metres we reach a chamber divided in two by large blocks that force us to climb to the upper part; from here a short ascending gallery connects with the outside through a narrow entrance.

History

Known since long ago by the people of the area. The first speleological references date from 1993, provided by Antonio Asensio and Pedro Valdepeñas, although there are references that would attribute the first visits to the GES del CMB in November 1948, generalising the group of crevices as the Forats de la Presa d'Aigües.
