Description

Morphology

The entrance porch gives way to two independent galleries. The right-hand one, about 2 metres wide, is slightly ascending, 21 metres long and with its floor covered by sand. The other is somewhat narrower and has a block right in the middle; its length is just over 9 metres.

History

Known since time immemorial by the fishermen of the area.

Senent (1963) cites it for the first time in his work on the Cova de les Rates Penades. Members of the ERE of the CEC visited and surveyed it around the beginning of the 1960s, although the survey remained unpublished until the publication of the volume corresponding to the Baix Empordà of the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya (1980).

In July 1998 members of the SIRE – UEC surveyed it again.
