Walled rock shelter at La Granadella, 40 metres wide by 11 metres deep, with interior walls and blocks.

Characteristics

Location

On the C-233 road from La Granadella to El Soleràs, once past the ermita de Sant Antoni and just after kilometre 24, follow the track on the right, which is the camí de les Fonts dels Caus. At 590 metres turn left and follow the track 1.93 km from the road; at this point turn left and continue 230 metres to the point where the track makes a 180º turn to the right. Here we will leave the vehicle and continue on foot in a NW direction; the cave is 80 metres away, skirting the cultivated fields.

Description

Morphology

Rock shelter 40 metres wide by 11 metres deep. As the name says, a stone wall completely closes off the rock shelter; inside, another wall divides it into two completely unequal parts. Almost in the middle of the rock shelter there is a whole series of blocks.

History

Known and used since ancient times.
