Characteristics

Location

After passing Cap des Pentiner we reach Cala Fotedera. 100 metres before reaching a small point is cave I, and some 25 metres further on, just past the aforementioned point, is cave II, and some 30 metres further on, past another rocky headland, is a corridor that leads directly to the cave.

Description

Morphology

The mouth is 2 metres wide by 6 wide and 2 metres below the water level. The gallery widens until, at 14 metres, it reaches a pebble beach, where the width is 7 metres. The cave maintains this width while the beach rises gently (elevation + 5), where it ends abruptly.

History

The only reports we have are those published by members of SIS – CE Terrassa who explored it in August 1980.

When these caves were published, the place name of the cove where they are located was Futadera and it was later standardised to Fotedera.
