Characteristics

Location

On the track that goes from Àger to Sant Esteve de la Sarga, once we have reached the parking area of the Pla or Coll de la Pua, we will follow the track in the direction of Sant Esteve de la Sarga for 375 metres; almost arriving and after passing the cucona de la Pua we will find on the left an old path that goes to some abandoned watering troughs, and following the track we will pass a stream; at this point we must leave the track and through the middle of the forest follow about a hundred metres in a SW direction. When we reach the ravine that comes down from the Graller del Boixeguer, we will find the cave on the right hydrographic slope inside the dry-stone walled pen.

Description

Morphology

Inside an enclosure in the form of a pen with a dry-stone wall, the entrance opens with a downward slope towards the interior, which places us in a small chamber about 4 metres wide by just over 2 metres high. On the NW side, next to the entrance ramp and made artificially, we find a small crawlway that goes in a few metres until it becomes impassable.

Other details

Small cave used as a fold in Sant Esteve de la Sarga.

In summer it is practically impossible to enter because of the millions of mosquitoes in the cave, while in winter there are none.

History

It is evident that it must have been known and used by the local people; speleologically it had never been cited or catalogued.
