Description
Morphology
The rock shelter has an entrance width of 12 metres and a height of 5.5 metres. Inside we find an ascending ramp of 7 metres. At the back on the left there is a climbing area about 4 metres long, quite rich in concretions with some gours.
Progression
To reach it we will set off just where the road's guardrail ends and continue to the right (East) along a waymarked path that climbs up to an old terrace. Here we will find a path marked with tapes; we will continue in an easterly direction for about a hundred metres from the road until we reach a tree that has a plastic tie on one branch. At this point we will climb the slope in the opposite direction to the one we had been going and in about fifty metres we will reach the rock shelter.
History
The Cova dels Coloms appears in almost all speleological catalogues, since it is a rock shelter that has always been known but there was no further information. However, if we turn to the publication that Albert Manent made in 1967 on the toponymy of La Febró, and for which he won the Eduard Brossa prize of the Societat Catalana de Geografia, we find that he cites it on the basis of the interrogations made to the elderly people of the village, the cova dels Coloms, saying that there is the one of Dalt and the one of Baix, therefore there were two caves and not just one. From this information we searched for it until we found it.
