Description
Morphology
South-facing arch-shaped entrance that is 1.80 m wide by 1.40 m high. It gives way to a comfortable gallery, slightly ascending, that ends in a very narrow terminal fissure. The maximum width of the gallery is 3.5 m and the maximum height is 2.80 m. Clayey and stony floor.
Speleothems
No concretions are observed, but some ancient erosive forms are.
History
Known to local people and to local hikers. Some groups have even used the cave to set up the Christmas nativity scene. The place name “Cova del Senecó” appears labelled on the ICGC map, but it places it about 150 m east of the spot where the cave is actually located.
Despite this, the cavity had remained speleologically unpublished until the visit at the end of October 2023 by members of the ECM Barcelonès and the GE Badalona, who carried out the surveying and cataloguing work.
