Description
Morphology
Through a stone wall that masks the original mouth and by means of a grille (which once protected the entrance), one enters a chamber about 15 metres long by 7 wide and with a maximum height of 2 metres. At its N end begins a passage about 20 metres long whose cross-section gradually diminishes until it opens into an orthogonal gallery where the cave's morphology changes radically. Its length is 24 metres and it reaches a width of about 4.5 metres. At its NE end there is an opening through which, after a short vertical ascent, an upper gallery is reached, separated from the lower one by a relatively thin rock diaphragm which at the point of connection has generated a series of clastic products cemented by lithogenesis. The length of this upper gallery is about 50 metres, quite comfortable in the first stretch but diminishing in size as one advances towards the SW until it is choked by sediments and lithogenic formations. The total drop relative to the entrance mouth is 16.49 metres (+8.85; -7.64).
Speleothems
From the absolute absence of lithogenic forms in the first metres of its passage, one passes to a gallery adorned with all kinds of speleothems.
History
Cavity known since time immemorial. The first mention corresponds to Faura i Sans, who records it in his Recull (1909) and notes an exploration in 1908.
Visits have always been numerous over the years and on two occasions attempts have been made to protect it, by means of closure, from the acts of vandalism that some disrespectful visitors have committed inside it. Despite this, the cave still preserves its lithogenic value quite well.
