Description

Morphology

The cavity currently presents an underground hall located 5 metres below the entrance level. The hall is about 10 metres in diameter and has been paved and covered to be used as a store. There are some stairs to go down into it.

Progression

From the hall it continues through an open-air gallery to a lime kiln. Formerly, according to its former owner and author of the works, and as Font i Sagué also records in his 1897 catalogue, some galleries came out of this hall; one of them, after a shaft, communicated with a lower gallery of about 300 metres in length, which they say was blocked by a collapse at this point located below the railway line.

Other details

The current state of the cavity is unknown.

History

First cited by N. Font i Sagué in his Catàlech (1897), giving the data he collected from the interrogation made a year earlier by the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya. The informant already cites a hall with a series of galleries coming out of it. Towards the end of the 1970's, J. Borràs was able to locate and visit the cavity, which had already been transformed into a kind of store.
