Characteristics

Location

Following the C-242 road towards Bellaguarda from the Granadella, at kilometre 12.7 we take a track that branches off to the right; this is the camí de les Eroles, which links up with the camí dels Aubarzers, which we follow to the right; the GR65-5 long-distance footpath passes through here. Further on this path is called the camí de la cova del Moro; we leave one fork to the left and another to the right, and after covering 1.3 km we must continue on foot. The cave is located about 120 metres from the track in a westerly direction.

Description

Morphology

It is 36 metres wide and 14 metres deep.

Progression

After covering 1.3 km we must continue on foot. The cave is located about 120 metres from the track in a westerly direction.

Other details

It is another of the interesting rock shelters in the municipality. It is enclosed by a stone wall with a doorway made of well-cut dressed stone. Inside there are old farming tools everywhere.

History

Known since ancient times in the area.
