Characteristics

Location

About Km 1.5 on the B112 road from Collbató we will take the turnoff towards the coves del Salnitre; after 450 m we will leave the vehicle beside the Salut recreational area and, on foot, we will take the path that climbs back up the torrent itself in a N direction. At 200 m we will leave the torrent bed for a new path that heads E and we will climb it for about 60 m; at this point the rocky spur where the cave is located will be visible towards the S and, in the background, the Salut recreational area and Collbató.

Description

Morphology

Cave of habitable dimensions, with an earthy floor and on an ascending ramp. Centred in the main chamber there is a rocky crest that divides the room into various levels and characterises it. The entrance mouth is divided in two by a large fallen block, the most comfortable access being the one situated furthest south; the other access is somewhat less comfortable as it is a squeeze with blocks on the floor. Towards the back of the room there are some small cavities and impenetrable passages that bring the cavity to an end. Vertical extent: 2.5 m (-1; +1.5).

Progression

To reach the cave we must leave the path and cross the gully on the side, descending towards the base of the visible spur; in about 30 m we will reach the mouth of the cave, at the very base of the spur.

History

A cavity unrecorded in speleological catalogues.
