Cova del Castell

Cova del Castell

Ínfima cova vora la Moleta de Fredes (Sant Carles de la Ràpita)

Sant Carles de la Ràpita • Montsià5m0

A tiny cave near the Moleta de Fredes, in Sant Carles de la Ràpita; a small hole that served as shelter for livestock, long known to shepherds and unrecorded in speleological catalogues.

Characteristics

Location

The cave is located near the Moleta de Fredes, in Sant Carles de la Ràpita. From Sant Carles de la Ràpita you must go to the Cocó de Jordi, where there is an area to leave the car. From here, instead of climbing towards the Font del Burgar towards la Foradada, you must follow the path in the direction of the Castell (Moleta de Fredes on the maps). Before arriving, at the base of the cliffs that wall it in on its east face, we see the small cova del Castell.
