Description
Morphology
The cavity is of considerable size, 20 metres wide by 8 metres deep and 3 metres high in the outer part. The completely flat floor is covered with sediments, most of them from the riu de Josa itself.
History
Known since ancient times, as it is a medieval site 800/1150. The SIES d'Esplugues surveyed it in August 1995. It is more than likely that this cavity is the cova de Tuixent, already cited by Puig y Larraz in 1896, and later by Font i Sagué and Faura i Sans. They describe it as a cova gran i espaiosa near the path from Josa to Tuixent, characteristics quite similar to those of this cave.
