A small cave in the Rec del Clot dels Cingles, in Camprodon, with an entrance of 3.3 by 1.93 metres divided by a rock column that gives access to a flat gallery of 6.6 metres.

Location

From Beget, we will follow the GIV-5221 road towards Oix until we reach the house 'el Cordonet'. Next to the house, right at the bend and at kilometre 21.1, a track suitable for 4x4 vehicles starts, which we will follow until we reach the first torrent, which is the Rec del Clot dels Cingles. From here we will head upstream along the hydrographic left bank until we reach the walls that remain above us, through a scrubby forest with no paths; the cavity is located opposite the cova de Cordonet, on the other side of the valley.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 3.3x1.93 metres divided by a rock column gives access to a flat gallery 6.6 metres long.

History

Nil Hosta Ferrer and Tanit Sanmartin located and explored it in December 2025.

In March 2026, Albert Sancho, from Sant Joan les Fonts, a good connoisseur of the reliefs of the Garrotxa and the Ripollès, as well as a collaborator of his colleague Ferran Cardona (ECMB) in the search for cavities throughout these areas, contacted Tanit and Nil and let them know that the cave they had named (for lack of information) as Cova de la Prestatgeria is in fact known by the people of the area as Cova de la Viuda. In view of this information we have proceeded to rename the cavity.

We sense that, behind this Viuda, there must be a more or less curious story that we do not know at present.
