A rock shelter in the Granadella, 25 metres wide and 7 metres deep, with an almost square chamber about 5 metres on each side and dry-stone walls.

Characteristics

Location

Leaving the Granadella along the C-242 road towards Bellaguarda, at kilometre 14.1 and on the left-hand side a track sets off; after a few metres we follow the left-hand track for 340 metres, at this point we must follow the right-hand track and continue another 550 metres until reaching a farmhouse where we will leave the vehicle. From here we must follow the left-hand side of the farmhouse until finding a cistern; we must go down and follow to the right until the Cova de la Font del Quico, located below the farmhouse.

Description

Morphology

Rock shelter 25 metres wide and 7 metres deep. Inside, a chamber can be seen, almost square, about 5 metres on each side; likewise there are several dry-stone walls that reach the roof of the rock shelter.

Hydrology

By means of a channel open in the ground that is still preserved, the water from the spring was brought in.

Inside we find tools of all kinds.

History

Known and used since ancient times.
