A rock shelter in the Granadella, 28 metres wide and 11 metres deep, with a small dry-stone room and a water pool.

Characteristics

Location

Leaving the Granadella along the C-242 road towards Bellaguarda, at kilometre 14.1 a track leaves on the left side; after a few metres follow the left-hand track for 340 metres, at this point take the right-hand track and continue another 550 metres until reaching a farmhouse where we will leave the vehicle. From here follow the left side of the farmhouse until finding a cistern; descend and continue to the right, passing in front of the Cova de la Font del Quico located below the farmhouse; from here follow a well-marked path in a SSE direction which in 115 metres will bring us to the Cova de Cal Barber.

Description

Morphology

Rock shelter 28 metres wide and 11 metres deep. Inside, in the E part, there is a small room made of dry stone about 5 metres on each side.

Hydrology

On the W side there is a small water pool. The whole rock shelter is quite damp.

History

Known and used since ancient times.
