Bora Número 3 Bis del Borró

Minúscul avenc de 2 metres de fondària en guixos a Sales de Llierca

Sales de Llierca • Garrotxa7m2m

Tiny 2-metre-deep pit in gypsum at Sales de Llierca, explored by the GE Badalona and collaborators from other organisations during 1993 and 1994.

Characteristics

Location

From Tortellà we will go to the centre of Sales de Llierca where the town hall is located; once past this and the church, which are on our left, we will continue along the second track we find on the right, this is located just where the asphalt ends (data from 2009) and which in 500 metres leads to can Tomet. The track makes a left-hand bend and descends towards the river Borró, we cross it and at 60 metres we find a path on the right which we ignore and 40 metres further on we find an esplanade on the right where vehicles can be left. From this point a small path starts that leads to the aforementioned path and which in 150 metres places us at the bed of the river Borró; we will follow it downstream and at 50 metres we find some high walls on the left, when these walls begin to diminish after 130 metres from the start of the route along the river and on the right-hand side we see the farmhouse of can Bellús, a small path on the left going uphill leads us in a few metres to the entrance of the Bora de can Bellús. From this entrance we can continue downstream, a small path parallel to the river for about 80 metres where on the right the small path climbs until it places us above the depression formed by the Bora no. 2, following the small path we will reach the depression of the Bora no. 3 and 3 bis which do not belong to the system. The Bora no. 3 bis opens in the form of a pit a little above the Bora no. 3.

Description

Morphology

A small 2-metre pit with a lot of sediment is followed by a short crawl which ends up becoming impenetrable. In total it is 2.5 metres deep and 7.5 metres long.

History

Explored by the GE Badalona and collaborators from other organisations during 1993 and 1994. On a recent visit made in December 2009 it seemed to us that the access to the gallery had become obstructed by sediments.
