A well-known rock shelter in Alta Garrotxa, mentioned since long ago in the routes of the Sant Aniol d'Aguja area.

Location

It is located in Alta Garrotxa. From Sadernes you must go to the Pont d'en Valentí (Ca la Bruta), then follow the path of Talaixà, Coll de la Balmeta, la Balmeta, and the Balmes d'Uja.

It is a route of just over 5 kilometres one way, provided you can park in the third car park; if the vehicle is left in Sadernes you must add a couple more kilometres.

Another access is from the Basses de Monars, via the font del Pic de les Bruixes and the coll de Sant Marc to the Balmes d'Uja. This route is 4 kilometres one way and with half the elevation gain of the previous route.

Morphology

It is a long, shallow rock shelter. We do not have a survey, so we do not know the exact dimensions of the rock shelter.

History

Mentioned since long ago in most hiking routes in the Sant Aniol d'Aguja area.
