Walled rock shelter at la Granadella, 36 metres wide, 10 metres deep and 2 metres average height, with a dry-stone wall closing the entrance.

Characteristics

Location

We can leave the vehicle at kilometre 18.35 of the C-233 road between Bovera and la Granadella. From the left side of the road a path starts which in about 50 metres and overcoming a drop of 20 metres will take us without loss to the rock shelter. Having covered about 30 metres of this path, from the left a path starts which continues parallel to the road and ends at the rock shelter after covering about 150 metres.

Description

Morphology

Rock shelter 36 metres wide, 10 metres deep and an average height of 2 metres. A dry-stone wall completely closes the entrance, leaving a door one metre wide. The interior is flat, with some blocks in the central part, and a larger block above which the wall has been built.

History

Known and used since ancient times.
