Balma de la Penya del Donzell

Balma de la Penya del Donzell

Balma de 8 metres de fondo a Artesa de Segre

Artesa de Segre • Noguera8m0

An 8-metre-deep rock shelter in Artesa de Segre, hanging on the cliff of the penya.

Characteristics

Location

It is located on a penya parallel to the Penya del Donzell but separated from it by the barranc de les Pletes.

670 metres before reaching the small village of Montmagastre and 125 metres before Cal Donzell, a track leaves to the left of the road in the direction of Can Puiterró and after 840 metres places us beside the Penya del Donzell. From here the track descends and crosses the barranc del Rei and continues parallel to the barranc de les Pletes, finally crossing it at the point where the track turns left and where we find another track on the right which we will ignore. The track, now climbing, turns left again and then immediately right; at this point a path leaves to the left that runs alongside some cultivated fields, at the end of which we head towards the penya where the cavity is hanging on the cliff.
