Tiny 6-metre-deep pit in Vallirana, discovered by the SIEP in 1978 and explored by the CE Vallirana in 1996.

Location

It can be reached both from Begues, via the track that after Can Farfai climbs to the Sotarro and heads to the Marge del Moro, and from Vallirana from the Mas de les Fonts, the Pla d'Ardenya, following the track that passes by the doline of the Bassa de la Llacuna until it meets the previously described track coming from the Sotarro. From this point we will follow the track in an E direction, towards the Marge del Moro; at 90 metres we find a junction, we must continue straight in the direction of the avenc Marcel for 105 metres, where we will leave the path on the left and continue through the middle of the forest for 32 metres where we will find the cavity.

Description

Morphology

Artificial trench opened as a quarry. The deepest point connects with a 3-metre drop that is roomy but with an irregular base. At one end a low-roofed gallery opens, a little over 3 metres long, semi-filled with rubble. A narrow window open on the right above a short step connects directly with a second 3-metre drop.

History

Discovered by the SIEP in 1978. It was later cleared and explored by the CE Vallirana during 1996.
