Avenc dels Constants

Avenc de 50 m. de profunditat a la Mola de Colldejou

Colldejou • Baix Camp120m50m

A 50 m deep pit on the SO slope of the Mola de Colldejou, discovered and explored around the year 1971 by speleologists from Reus.

Characteristics

Location

On the SW slope of the Mola de Colldejou.

Once at the top of the summit of the Mola de Colldejou and at the moment of beginning the descent along the classic path (GR 7-3), a trail branches off to the left that also descends toward the Coll de Guix. Shortly before the two itineraries meet again, a few metres to the left of the path is the pit.

Approximate coordinates of low precision.

Description

Morphology

An upper fissure 5 metres deep connects the exterior with two perpendicular branches running E-O and S-N.

The first of these presents a descending route of 25 metres and descends to a depth of 14 metres.

The S-N fissure, after an initial shaft of 13 metres, descends along a steep slope to a depth of 35 metres.

Progression

Almost at the start of this slope there is a lateral connection that penetrates into a new and narrow perpendicular fissure that, with great difficulty, reaches the point of maximum depth (elevation – 50).

History

Discovered and explored around the year 1971 by speleologists from Reus, we think members of the EPE of the Associació Excursionista de Reus, although we are not sure.
