Characteristics

Location

We leave Colldejou following the GR-7 towards Llaberia. At 425 metres we reach a crossroads that we take to the right along a wide path; we continue upwards, leaving the GR. 500 metres further on we find a fork. We leave the track that descends and take the one going up to the right along the wide path. 525 metres further on, after a sharp bend to the right, we must take a faintly marked path on the left that runs through the middle of the forest. If we look carefully we will see some cairns at the entrance to the path. This path is not very easy to follow; we must head towards the mountain, climbing; there are some places where we will see orange-coloured marks, and higher up, when we come out of the vegetation, we will find some cairns. After covering 650 metres, when the scree slope begins, we turn left, traverse on flat ground and pass behind some rocks, where we will find the avenc del Niu de la Miloca. Very approximate coordinates.

Description

Morphology

A small cave entrance, between blocks, gives way to a descending gallery that at 12 metres opens out above a 5-metre pit occupied by blocks. The base of this pit is very long and uneven, mainly due to the blocks found in it, as well as being the floor of a -35 metre pit that has an upper entrance. At the lowest end opens the access point to the lower part of the cavity, formed by a succession of steps and small staggered pits partially obstructed by blocks, until reaching the maximum depth of -67 metres with respect to the upper entrance.

History

Located and explored in 1982 by members of the ERE of the Associació Excursionista Catalunya de Reus, at that time still a delegation of the AEC of Barcelona, who provided the data to furnish volume 7 of the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya (1984).
