A 36-metre-deep pit in Begues, with an entrance of 1 x 0.6 metres, a 12-metre shaft and a gallery along a SW-NE fissure.

Location

Along the track that goes from Begues in the direction of the Mas de les Fonts, and once past the font d'Alba, the track ascends while making a couple of bends until reaching the highest point of the track, which lies in the middle of a curve from which a path emerges that we will follow for a few metres until finding a small trail on the right that will take us directly to the avenc del Vermell.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 1 x 0.6 metres gives way to a 12-metre shaft that continues with a gallery structured along a fissure running SW-NE, which descends steeply and after a distance of about 16 metres gives way to a 4-metre drop, followed by a 7-metre shaft whose base continues steeply for about 36 metres until it becomes impassable.

History

The first exploration was carried out on 14 August 1898 by N. Font i Sagué, Aguiló i Pagès.
