Location

By the BV-2411 road from Begues to Olesa de Bonesvalls, once past the entrance to the CIARIES, SA quarry, continue to the bridge that crosses the riera de Begues and just after it (km. 16.7) leave the car on a small verge.

Go west along the side of some terraced fields and after a few metres continue south until passing under the power line. A few metres further on is the pit.

Description

Morphology

A small entrance followed by a 5 metre pit with a 3 x 2 metre floor covered in blocks. Then a 2 metre drop leads to some slightly wider small chambers. Here a new vertical section of 1.3 x 0.7 metres begins, narrowing progressively along the 6 metres penetrated (level -14) and continuing for a few more very narrow metres. Numerous blocks are visible.

The first explorers calculated that it could go down about 20 metres in total.

Speleothems

Some speleothems are visible.

History

Discovered and explored by members of the Espeleo Grup Santfeliuenc in November 1993. Xavier Arús, one of the discoverers, named it after his dog.

The cave remained completely forgotten until 9 March 2019, when it was rediscovered by members of the ERE – CEC thanks to some verbal information that Xavier Arús had given more than 20 years earlier to a member of the Espeleoíndex team.
