Characteristics

Location

Access is quite difficult, since the barranc de la Foradada must be ascended from la Febró, and there are stretches of the ravine where vegetation prevents passage.

A more feasible access is from the TV-7041 road at the Coll de Capafonts; from this point a track leaves that passes by the Creu Trencada, 515 metres before reaching the Creu Trencada at the coordinates (ETRS89-335328-4571265), on the right a path leaves that we will follow for about 600 metres until finding the path that comes from la Foradada; we will follow the path to the left in the opposite direction to the one we had been taking, after about 200 metres at a small col we will leave the path and continue to the right, making a steep descent to the bed of the barranc de la Foradada, in about 200 metres we will find the pit in the middle of a large limestone slab on the bed of the ravine.

Description

Morphology

A small mouth open in a slab in the middle of the barranc de la Foradada gives access to a shaft where at -3.3 metres there is a small ledge, the shaft descends another 0.9 metres ending in a small chamber. On the N side a narrow passage gives access to a step where we find the deepest point of the cavity, at -5.4 metres; from this point and on the W side we find a small chamber with no further continuation, the total length is 13 metres.

Hydrology

Given the quantity of sediments at the bottom, it is evident that the cavity acts as a sinkhole of the ravine when water flows through it.

History

We do not know since when it has been known; we have found it referenced in some Wikiloc routes; we have evidence that Juan Sole Figueras explored it in March 2021.
