Characteristics

Location

Located on the A-26 road between Besalú and Castellfollit de la Roca, you will need to take the exit towards Montagut, and just as you finish passing through the village we will turn left in the direction of Sadernes. About two hundred metres before reaching it we will continue along an unpaved track that leads to Guitarriu and the Coll de Faja. When we reach the ruins of the Cofí, we will continue along the track on the left as far as the ruined house of the Lliure. At this point, where the track ends, we will find some painted marks for going to the cova del bisbe. From here, we will go to the left in a southerly direction, following a path that soon reaches a small step that is very easy to descend. The entrance of the avenc de la Rosita is at the foot of this step and on the left according to the direction of travel.

Description

Morphology

The cavity begins with a narrow fissure that descends about 7 metres, until it widens and within a couple of metres we find ourselves on a platform that divides two pits of respectable dimensions, approximately 2.5x4.5 metres each.

The pit on the north side descends 7 metres and ends in a floor full of pebbles. The other pit begins after a short ramp where there is a curious root about 6 metres high hanging from the ceiling. The rather wide pit descends 11 metres; at this point we find a short gallery that descends a little and places us at the deepest point of the cavity at -25 m. The total route is 40 metres.

History

This modest pit was shown by the Rosita del Vilarot to the members of the Grup Sadernes and of the GASALP de Bescanó, who explored it for the first time on 20 February 1999, made a simple sketch of it, and attributed to it an exaggerated depth of 40 m.
