Location

From the Pleta you must head for the head of the Fondo de la Pleta and go down to find the Avenc de la Pleta; a little further down the Avenc Morgan i Comas and further on the Avenc de la Pela, near the streambed and on its left.

(Note: location very different from that published in the speleological catalogue of Garraf, 1974.)

Description

Morphology

The entrance, 2 metres long by half a metre wide, is divided into three by two wedged blocks that make entry difficult. A shaft of about 5 metres deep places us on a ramp of blocks that ends after a few metres.

Speleothems

In the upper part of the ramp two strongly concretioned blind dome cavities develop.

History

Cavity discovered and explored by members of the SES-CE Puigmal (Barcelona) in 1969.

In July 2011, members of the GE Badalona rediscovered this small pit and, as it did not coincide with the situation published in the Catàleg de Garraf (where it is located 20 m above the left slope), they named it Avenc del Fondo de la Pleta.

Curiously, near the entrance there is a sign of the Parc del Garraf on which appears Avenc de la Pela and currently (2026), on the rock at the entrance the mistaken painted name Avenc del Fondo de la Pleta is still preserved.
