Description
Morphology
At the foot of a rocky overhang opens the entrance that communicates with a shaft of little more than 32 metres. At the -13 level a small lateral chamber of short extent originates, and at the -23 level, through a lateral window, one enters a subvertical conduit that narrows until it leads into the final section of the pit.
Hydrology
The bottom of the pit is made impermeable by clay and retains runoff water whose level can vary depending on the time of year.
Progression
The final section of the pit has also been reached from the base of the main shaft, once two drops of 4 and 6 metres respectively have been overcome.
History
Discovered and explored in 1965 by a team of the Agrupació Científico-Excursionista de Mataró, which attributed 55 metres of depth to it, without giving a very precise location of its whereabouts. It is not until 1978 that members of SIRE – Tortosa rediscover it, producing a more accurate survey.
