Location

On the T-730 road from Cabacés to La Figuera, between kilometres 5 and 6 and one kilometre before reaching La Figuera, the track leading to the chapel of Sant Pau leaves from the left side of the road. About 100 metres N of this point on the road, the pit opens.

Description

Morphology

A small cavity formed along a joint running N20E/S20W, with a single narrow descending gallery in that direction, with the entrance in the form of a shaft opening at the highest point of the ceiling. It is completely filled with blocks.

Progression

At present access is impassable because a wild fig tree has grown from inside and blocks the way; to gain access it would be necessary to cut it and remove the roots and the soil that has covered part of the small opening. A good draught of air comes out of the opening.

History

Explored in 1975 by the SIEP of the Centre Excursionista Poblet de Barcelona.
