Grotte di Bellver de Cerdanya

Bellver de Cerdanya, a municipality in the Cerdanya, has 38 catalogued cavities: 30 caves and 8 pits. Together they total a length of 4937 m and reach a maximum depth of 206 m. All the recorded cavities develop in limestone.

The Cova de la Fou de Bor is the most notable cavity in the municipality, with 4246 m of length and 206 m of vertical drop, and it is at once the longest and the deepest. It is followed, as regards length, by the Forat de l'Esclop (104 m), the Forat de les Gralles (84 m), the Cova Penjada del Grau d'ingla (42 m) and the Forat del Collet de Nas (41 m). As for depth, after the Cova de la Fou de Bor come the Forat de les Gralles (54 m), the Forat de l'Esclop (25 m), the Avenc del Pastor (22 m) and the Avenc Veli (19 m).

Among the cavities of the municipality are the Forat de l'Esclop, on the cingles de la Vall d'Ingla, with three entrances, sedimentary infill and bone remains; the Forat de les Gralles, with an entrance of 13 m by 4.50, pits of 23 and 18 m and a chamber of 17 m; the Cova Penjada del Grau d'ingla, with a gallery divided by the remains of a partition and an upper entrance that opens out through a pit; and the Forat del Collet de Nas, with 13 m of vertical drop (-10; +3), explored on 16 October 2014. The Avenc del Pastor was explored between the years 1975-1977, and the Avenc Veli has a narrow entrance, an irregular pit of 14 m and ascending galleries with reconstructive samples.
