Caratteristiche

Località

At km. 196.6 of the N-260 road (Puigcerdà – la Seu d'Urgell) and shortly before entering Bellver de Cerdanya, a small road branches off that climbs to the small villages of Ordèn and Talltendre. West of Ordèn flows down the torrent de Prat de Codines, which further down becomes the torrent d'Ulldebou (or Cap de Bou). The cave should be found to the S and not far from Ordèn, on the left slope of the torrent de Prat de Codines. Approximate coordinates with no reliability whatsoever.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Consisting of a single gallery that remains lit thanks to its wide entrance. It has a passage of 10 metres, a height of 2.5 metres and a width of 3 metres.

Progressione

We have no survey and do not know whether one was ever made.

Altri dettagli

The contents of its sediments are unknown, but given its conditions it could be that the cavity was used during some prehistoric period.

The toponym foranca is fairly extensive and refers to a cave of small dimensions, therefore Cova de la Foranca would be a reiteration.

Storia

Very possibly it was explored by C. Ribera, M. Canals and R. Viñas (ERE – CEC) on the same day they explored the Infern d'en Martí, on 31 January 1968, including a very brief note in their publication on the sector (1970).

Recently, Jordi Casamajor has been able to confirm the presence of two crosses carved in the rock inside it (see his website: jordicasamajor.nirudia.com).
