Descrizione

The cave has three entrances to the outside, two of them located at the upper level and the third at the middle level, this being the normal access.

The whole cavity is structured along a strongly inclined fracture, and large blocks wedged between the walls create different routes which the authors of the survey group into four levels. The total elevation difference is 28.7 metres (+9.3; -19.4) and the surveyed passage reaches 286.8 metres.

Concrezioni

No reconstructive forms are observed.

Progressione

The whole complex is a clastic pile-up that must be overcome with climbs of various degrees of difficulty. At some point the use of a rope is not amiss.

Storia

Known for a long time by the people of Caldes, especially hunters. Having learned of its existence, Joan Pallarès-Personat made several attempts to locate it, but it was not until November 1974 that, accompanied by Agustí Vila of the Escoltes de Caldes, they were able to make a first reconnaissance (J. Pallarès, X. Bellés and T. Cuñé) mainly for biospeleological purposes. On a new visit the following month, they carried out a topographic sketch of the cave, calculating a passage of about 70 metres.

It is not until 1999 that members of the Col·lectiu Escunhau (Espeleo Grup de l'Hospitalet and GIEG – Agrupació Excursionista de Granollers) visit the cavity again and observe the complexity of the cave, due to the accumulation of blocks forming different floors and the existence of two more entrances. After laborious and complicated surveying they manage to fix the total passage at 287 metres.
